Really dont like Shingles

 It's been a horrid couple of weeks with Shingles and Jill is still in quite a lot of discomfort. It's downright nasty!!

Today was the first day feeling marginally better so hope to get on with housey stuff next week. Have managed to empty out some of the old kitchen though. We had a lot of stuff in there!

We've had a lot of wind, rain, sleet and snow the last few days unfortunately we didn't get our Jewsons order put away in time!

We lost some insulation board.

Bruce and Jim have just about finished the staircase. Rob and Jill had done a lot of the work but it's good having some experts to fin ish it off. It looks grand. The last few spindles came out to sand the last bits and will go back Monday. Its beautiful.

Now we can have a tidy up and get the hard wax oil on.

Spindle xylophone

 The stairs are so close to being finished. It's very exciting, they are going to look amazing. Upstairs the spindles are stripped and had a coat of oil. Looks like a xylophone!

The spindles should be going back in tomorrow.

Jill actually managed to get through the day without a snooze and spent the afternoon emptying the cupboards in the old kitchen. Almost time to rip it out and start work in there.

Final coat on the chest of drawers. It's come up really well.

Catch up

 Apologies for missing blogs but Jill is still feeling crappy and sore- apparently it could take a while.

Today, however, she felt a wee bit better. All helped by an amazing sunrise.

Jill did manage some sanding today. On the little chest of drawers. it's coming up OK.

Morgan wasn't keen on all the sanding today.

Bruce and Jim continued on the stairs. Almost there. Finally!

Peerie improvement

 Not much of an improvement, but, no new hives for 3 days. Still mighty painful though so taking things very slowly. Made it to tescos today for some instant dinners!

Have left Bruce and Jim hard at work yesterday and today. They are beavering away on the stairs, finishing the bathroom and putting a join finish on the front entry step.

Really lovely light today and very still.

Jill had a snooze this afternoon so we could keep our quiz night commitment. Think it was a bit hard as Jill hadn't been well enough to go through and weed out some hard ones!

Short blog, still feeling crappy

 Jill still covered in spots and very sore so another short blog. She is trying to be good and resting but it's difficult when you are a carer!

 She managed to try some wax oil for a few minutes.

The cats also demanded their new scratching post.

Bruce did some glossing upstairs and took out the next batch of spindles.

Did manage to get out briefly to see the sunset.

Feeling crappy

 Not a great start to the week but, Jill went to see The GP this morning ( and yes we know how lucky we are) and, along with a ligament problem, she has Shingles. It's very ouchy. So, no wonder yesterday's walk didn't help!

So, not much going on today except for staying in bed and battles trying to swallow the biggest tablets ever seen! ( and kitty cuddles).

 Bruce though got on upstairs and finished putting in skirting and painting woodwork with 2nd/ 1st coats. Also the metal strip is now on the nd of he shower. All good.

All a bit disappointing as the wooden floor finish has arrived.
