Eastern Bonelli's

 After yesterday's dodgy ferry crossing, we were back on the ferry today heading to Whalsay. It was a good crossing. Phew!

The Eastern Bonellis Warbler had very kindly waited for us and Rob managed to get down to the plantation too.  It's a nice spot and it didn't rain too much. The bird whoever, bounced around like a flea in a jar!

We did get some good views though and it was doing lots of fly catching. This was a tick for Jill as they are rare and don't often stay long. Rob had seen one before.















There was a nice redpoll too.


Rob was pleased to  find a bird watching friend there that he hasn't seen for a long time. Ian Broadbent. They had a good catch up and we were delighted to drop him back in Lerwick so he could get back to Aberdeen on the Northlink.  

It was a good day
