Rare thing- out with a needle

Up early to drop Jim at the bus. His van is kaput.

As they had to take the runner up to put the heating in, it frayed the edge. Jill couldn't get the same colour so went contrasting. Hopefully this will work. There are a lot of ends to do!

Heatwise are still battling to get extractors through the wall but we have a nice new insulated loft hatch!

Jill had to get a prescription for Rob so went in to town. His diabetes sensor had failed again! The plan was to pick up Jim afterwards to give him a lift home, but phone signals didn't allow and Jill couldn't find him! Do, while waiting, there were some Razorbills and Tysties at Victoria Pier.

There were two smarts boats in the harbour.

The witness is the newest Greenpeace ship.

The water was calm.

Back on track

All leaks fixed and new heating switched on. Who hoo! The cat has found the new radiator beds already.

There was still banging in crashing as some air vents went in and the drill is still struggling to get through the wall to put the first extractor in.

We need to rebuild the cupboard around the new immersion.

Jill popped over to Melby for a bit. There were lots of juvenile gulls.

A few Dunlin

There were several fishing Arctic Terns too. They are always fun to watch.

We are now feeding a small colony of Rock Doves. It's costing a fortune in chicken grain!

Oopsie

 Interesting day. Not!

The heating is coming along fine or was.

Water isn't supposed to come through the ceiling. Several buckets in the room. Luckily Jill still hadn't finished the last patch so the water came through there, and the light holes and the corners of the room and the lounge ceiling! Quite a water feature at one point. Lucky we were into spot it and the lads were about to fix it quickly. Leaky pipes. couldn't have been in a worse place as all the printers and computers are in there.

Never rains but it pours. He he.

We also had the company in sorting extractors, last bits of insulation and vents. Their drill bit  got stuck.

The joy of 4ft thick walls!

Jim was outside working on door and window surrounds.

Jill didn't get much done due to helping  clean up but did get outside for a bit to chisel the old cement off the roof tiles in the path to tidy it up.

Mental health day

We had a tip run today so we planned to do the shopping a break. What better for the mental health than puffins.

There are doing well at Sumburgh and the numbers seem up, which is amazing. Some are now coming in with Sand Eels too.

There was the usual supporting cast of  fulmars, Guillimots and Razorbills too.

Quick stop at Tescos on the way home with some tasty reduced price strawberries and squirty cream!
